About the Position

The firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support its Nashville litigation team. This is a role that blends substantive paralegal work (drafting, filings, trial prep) with administrative support (scheduling, billing, expense management). It's well suited to a legal secretary, legal assistant, or paralegal who enjoys variety, takes initiative, and wants to grow within a larger, well-resourced firm. This is a fully in-office position.

Key Responsibilities:

File in both state and federal courts, including CM/ECF
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, notices, and subpoenas
Prioritize and manage workload independently, taking initiative on projects and anticipating attorney needs
Conduct document searches and factual research
Prepare witness and matter materials for attorney review
Organize exhibits, files, and supporting documents for trial
Search, retrieve, and enter data in firm databases
Manage check requests and travel reimbursements through workflow technology
Handle attorney scheduling
Manage the pre-bill and billing statement process in collaboration with a global support team
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Practice Support

Qualifications:

3 to 5 years of experience as a legal secretary, administrative assistant, and/or paralegal
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
High degree of professionalism and sound judgment when interacting with clients
Team-first mindset, with an emphasis on cooperation within and across teams
Bachelor's degree preferred, or a combination of related experience and a two-year paralegal degree (a paralegal certification with related experience also meets minimum requirements)
