Mechanical Assembler

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Assembler to join our team in Dallas, TX for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position involves the precise fitting, installation, and assembly of mechanical parts and sub-units for data center enclosures. You will be expected to maintain high quality and safety standards while interpreting technical schematics and following specific assembly guidelines. Additionally, this role includes tasks related to troubleshooting production challenges and executing minor repairs as needed. Schedule and Compensation We offer overtime opportunities on both shifts. The first shift operates Monday through Friday from 5:45 AM to 2:30 PM at $20/hr, while the second shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:45 PM to 12:30 AM at $21/hr. Core Responsibilities Analyze and utilize bills of materials, work instructions, and mechanical blueprints. Construct enclosures, brackets, frames, and panels by assembling mechanical parts to exact specifications. Execute mechanical fastening, drilling, tapping, torqueing, and component alignment. Operate assembly equipment, power tools, hand tools, and measuring instruments in a secure and efficient manner. Mount hinges, rails, hardware, and support systems into various mechanical assemblies. Ensure component placement and dimensions are accurate by using precise measuring tools. Help prepare materials and sub-assemblies to streamline the production layout process. Perform necessary adjustments or minor fabrications to ensure engineering requirements are satisfied. Help maintain high quality standards by identifying and flagging nonconforming parts or production issues. Contribute to the success of the team by assisting with rework and troubleshooting of assemblies. Keep production records organized and finalize all required work orders. Help ensure that every finished assembly meets both internal quality benchmarks and client specifications. Contribute to a safer workplace by keeping your station clean and following all safety protocols. Work alongside engineers, technicians, and peers to ensure project deadlines and production goals are met. Support the team by organizing workstations and managing material inventory. Requirements A high school diploma or GED is mandatory, with vocational or technical schooling viewed as a plus. Ideally, you possess 1 to 3 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing assembly role. You must be capable of interpreting assembly instructions and mechanical blueprints. Proficiency in using power tools, torque equipment, hand tools, and measuring devices is essential. You should demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship. Prior experience in metal fabrication or working with electrical enclosures is highly desirable. You must be able to stand for long durations and lift up to 50 lbs. Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication abilities are required. You should be comfortable working independently within a fast-paced production setting.
