Director of Technology

Director of TechnologyWBZ-TV/CBS Boston is seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Director of Technology to lead the technical strategy and execution of our multi-platform content center. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for ensuring the operational excellence, innovation, and future-readiness of our broadcast and streaming infrastructure. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a forward-looking technology strategy aligned with organizational goals, leading all engineering and technical operations for broadcast and digital streaming platforms, overseeing technical infrastructure supporting news production, content distribution, and multi-platform delivery, driving innovation across television and streaming workflows, ensuring regulatory compliance, signal integrity, cybersecurity, and operational reliability, collaborating with station and division leadership on capital planning, vendor relationships, and technology budgets, recruiting, mentoring, and leading a high-performing engineering specialist team, and partnering with Director of News Operations and Production to prioritize station projects.Qualifications include proven leadership experience in broadcast engineering and/or multi-platform media environments, deep expertise in television transmission, studio systems, newsroom workflows, and streaming technologies, strong strategic planning and project management skills, experience leading technical transformation initiatives, excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and executive leadership, knowledge of FCC regulations and industry best practices, and a bachelor's degree in engineering, information technology, or related field preferred.
