OpenTN Manager

Role Description

This position will be responsible for managing all day-to-day aspects of the OpenTN project, which includes:

• Re-basing our existing Translator's Notes series from NIV to Berean Standard Bible
• Administering exploration of the use of AI in the TN development process
• Facilitating localized approaches to the same
• Managing and recruiting contract staff for the project
• Editorial oversight
• Project management
• Project reporting

Responsibilities:

• Oversee rebasing of published and semi-published TNs up to April 2027 from NIV to BSB
• Administer efforts around AI development in support of TN development
• Lead and administer efforts to develop an equivalent localized TN workflow (e.g. developing TN content in a non-English language and with a non-English reference translation; preferably open source)
• Manage a team of contractors to accomplish this task, including hiring/firing and recruiting
• Oversee quality control of the final product

Qualifications

• Significant experience as an editor
• Significant experience with our TN product
• A servant heart, confidence and discernment

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will have had experience working with our TN team and/or having used TNs
• Experience and confidence in managing a team of editors
• Producing regular status updates
