Senior Project Manager – Construction Connecticut Salary: $160,000 - $190,000+ DOE A leading and highly established construction organization in Connecticut is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its growing team. With a diverse portfolio of complex construction projects across the Northeast, the organization delivers major projects across education, healthcare, commercial, industrial, municipal, institutional, and infrastructure markets . The Senior Project Manager will have significant responsibility for leading major projects from preconstruction through final closeout while managing project teams, financial performance, client relationships, and overall project execution. The Role As Senior Project Manager, you will provide overall leadership and direction for assigned construction projects, working closely with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, Superintendents, estimators, and internal leadership. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead the overall execution of complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and project support staff Maintain overall responsibility for project financial performance, forecasting, cost control, and profitability Establish and maintain project budgets, schedules, procurement plans, and execution strategies Serve as a senior point of contact for owners, architects, engineers, consultants, and other project stakeholders Develop and maintain strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle Review and manage contracts, subcontractor agreements, scopes of work, change orders, and payment applications Oversee project procurement and subcontractor buyout Work closely with the Superintendent and field leadership to coordinate project execution Develop and monitor critical-path schedules and identify potential schedule risks Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to senior leadership and clients Manage RFIs, submittals, change management, claims, and other project documentation Participate in preconstruction activities including estimating, budgeting, constructability reviews, value engineering, logistics, and phasing Identify project risks and develop effective mitigation strategies Ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, safety requirements, and company standards Promote Lean construction practices and continuous improvement throughout project delivery Support business development and client relationship initiatives where appropriate Assist with mentoring and developing junior project management professionals Project Experience The ideal candidate will have experience managing large-scale and complex building construction projects, particularly within one or more of the following sectors: Healthcare Higher Education K-12 / School Construction Commercial Municipal / Civic Industrial / Manufacturing Institutional Athletic / Recreation Complex Renovation / Occupied Facilities Experience with Construction Management, General Contracting, Design-Build, or Program Management delivery methods is highly desirable. Experience managing projects in the $25M-$100M+ range is preferred. Qualifications 8+ years of construction project management experience Proven experience leading large or complex construction projects Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline preferred Strong understanding of construction contracts, drawings, specifications, means and methods, and project controls Demonstrated experience with project financial management and cost control What You’ll Bring The successful candidate will be a proven construction leader who can operate at both the strategic and project level.
