This is a benefited, full-time position generally working Monday-Friday from 9:00am-6:00pm. May include an occasional Saturday. Located at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines in La Jolla.

What you'll do: The ideal candidates if willing to work with multiple providers and be flexible with day to day job duties Rooming patients Checking vitals Assisting with procedures Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols Predominantly back-office responsibilities but is expected to help with front-office duties on an as-needed basis Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment Organizes and performs patient care services that support the provider's practice Relaying instructions from the provider to the patient or authorized person Collecting patient data in person and by phone Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review Administering medications specifically directed by the provider Scheduling of appointments and procedures Complete and accurate message taking Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction Order and referral entry Acquisition of pre-certifications Setting up of cases in EPIC Basic registration and updating of demographics Other duties assigned as needed

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman BLS required in clinical setting for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: One year of experience as a MA in an outpatient setting preferred
