Job Summary Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results. Job Details Entity: MUHA (Medical University Hospital Authority) Worker Type: Employee – PRN Cost Center: CC003711 COL - 5T Telemetry (DMC) Pay Rate Type: Hourly Pay Grade: Health-28 Hours per week: 24–48 hours per every 6‑week schedule, depending on the tier selected Work Shift: 12‑hour rotating shifts, days or nights Minimum Training and Education Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Licensure, Certifications, Registrations Registered nurse licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or American Red Cross equivalent) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Physical and Mental Requirements Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes, from elevated areas, in confined/cramped spaces, and in kneeling positions Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; lift from floor up to 36 inches; lift from 36” to overhead 25 lbs; exert up to 50 lbs of force Vision: 20/40 corrected, in one or both eyes; ability to see, recognize, discriminate colors, and determine distance; good peripheral vision Hearing: acoustic acuity with correction Ability to manage stressful situations Work rotating shifts and overtime as required Work in a latex‑safe environment Selected positions may require olfactory function, respirator use, and other specified physical prerequisites Equal Opportunity Employer Statement Medical University of South Carolina is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
