CNC Lathe Operator - Summary Responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC turning machines (lathes) to manufacture precision components. Ensures quality and accuracy in all produced parts by following detailed engineering specifications and blueprints. Works collaboratively within a manufacturing team, adhering to safety and organizational standards. Duties & Responsibilities Operate and set up CNC lathe and turning machines to produce parts for powersports and diesel engine assemblies. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job routers to ensure compliance with machining specifications. Load raw materials and bar stock, secure workpieces, and set tooling offsets for production runs. Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and bore gauges to confirm adherence to quality standards. Perform basic machine offsets, tool changes, and execute preventive maintenance tasks as needed. Monitor production and make real-time adjustments to address potential machine malfunctions or tool wear. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience with CNC turning machines (lathes). Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings, with a solid understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Skilled in using precision measurement instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Experience in automotive, powersports, or diesel engine manufacturing is preferred.
