Position Profile The Production Engineer is primarily responsible for the technical management, maintenance and development of new and existing motor production processes. This individual will be successful by taking pride and owning the results of their conducted work, being hands on with the products, teaching and ensuring others know how to perform the work, as well as understanding how their decisions will impact the overall success of the company’s goals. In this role the Production Engineer will define, develop, implement, and maintain methods, operations, equipment, and processes that continually ensure that products meet all internal and external requirements. The Production Engineer will also implement process improvements to improve yield results, participate in defect reduction activities, lean initiatives, and FMEA. Minimum Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field 3+ years’ experience manufacturing electric motors or similar electromechanical assemblies Knowledgeable of electric motors, their components, the equipment, processes, and techniques for testing and manufacturing. Excellent verbal/written communication skills required for interactions with all levels of personnel within the organization, as well as all suppliers and customers Computer literate, with demonstrated experience with applicable systems, programs, equipment, etc. Must be a US Citizen Essential or Primary / Key Responsibilities Create tooling, fixturing, detailed assembly and test processes for new and improvement of motors and other production hardware Create, maintain, and improve FMEA, Control Plans, and other process control tools Identify and act on opportunities to reduce material and labor costs Design methods, processes, and tooling that can be automated Understand and implement measurement techniques utilizing best practices to assure part and assembly compliance Investigate, assess and resolve production issues Support introduction of new process and products into production. Implement improvements to current operations to improve efficiency Seek out and utilize external resources and experts to solve issues Manage the procurement of necessary tooling, fixtures, and equipment Create, maintain and refine detailed manufacturing documentation (i.e. Operation Sheets, Routers, Set-up/Tooling sheets, etc.) Analyze layout of equipment, workflow, and assembly methods to maximize efficiency Generate procedures from various industry and aerospace specifications. Communicate designs and design intent with team members and suppliers. Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to designs, material selection, facility layout plans, cost estimates, DFM concepts, root cause investigations, etc. Participate and lead root cause investigations, troubleshooting activities, continuous improvement initiatives Experience with various molding techniques, equipment, and processes highly desirable Additional Duties / Responsibilities Desire to do ‘what it takes’ to accomplish our goals and WIN Speak up! Implement appropriate actions to resolve identified issues Lead training of assigned areas to maintain a well-trained workforce Abide by all safety, quality, housekeeping and company policies Consistently demonstrate commitment to company values Ensure that work area(s) are clean, secure, and well maintained Complete special projects and miscellaneous assignments as required Contribute to a positive, cooperative and safe work environment This position is at our Chaska, MN Location Pay Range Pay Range: $87,500 - $115,000 Many of our contracts require proof that you are a U.S. citizen and/or that an export license has been obtained for employees who are citizens of certain countries. Your employment, both initially and continually thereafter, is conditioned on production of such proof of citizenship and/or any export license that may be required to comply with any and all applicable laws, regulations, or executive orders, or required by Federal, State, or local government contracts.
