Base Salary: 90,000 annually

On-Target Earnings: 110,000 annually, including performance incentives

About the Opportunity \n

Blue Collar Scholars is a growing residential construction and home improvement company serving the Washington, DC metropolitan area. Our projects range from decks, patios, hardscaping, and exterior improvements to kitchens, bathrooms, additions, and custom construction.

\n

We are seeking an experienced Field Operations Supervisor who knows quality construction, can identify problems before they become expensive, and takes pride in delivering an exceptional homeowner experience.

\n

This is not a traditional Project Manager role. Our Project Managers coordinate scheduling, subcontractors, and project administration remotely. You will be their eyes and ears in the field, providing the hands-on construction expertise needed to ensure projects are completed safely, correctly, and professionally.

What You'll Do \n

Construction Quality and Field Inspections

\n

●       Visit active jobsites throughout the DMV to inspect workmanship, safety, and progress.

\n

●       Identify construction deficiencies, potential failures, and quality concerns before they become customer problems.

\n

●       Verify work meets approved plans, contract specifications, and company quality standards.

\n

●       Document every visit with inspection reports, photographs, and observations.

\n

●       Verify corrective work and completed punch list items.

\n

Subcontractor and Project Support

\n

●       Work directly with subcontractors to identify problems and communicate required corrections.

\n

●       Provide Project Managers with accurate field observations and recommendations.

\n

●       Help resolve construction challenges and prevent unnecessary delays.

\n

●       Maintain professional, accountable relationships with subcontractor partners.

\n

Customer Experience and Project Closeout

\n

●       Represent Blue Collar Scholars professionally during homeowner visits.

\n

●       Conduct final walkthroughs and verify projects are ready for completion.

\n

●       Address customer questions and escalate unresolved concerns.

\n

●       Collect final payments when authorized and appropriate.

\n

●       Encourage satisfied customers to share their experiences through online reviews.

What We're Looking For \n

Required Qualifications

\n

●       Significant hands-on experience in residential construction, remodeling, or field supervision.

\n

●       Broad knowledge of construction methods, materials, and workmanship standards across multiple trades.

\n

●       Ability to recognize construction defects and recommend practical corrective solutions.

\n

●       Experience supervising or inspecting subcontractor work.

\n

●       Strong communication skills and professional customer-facing presence.

\n

●       Ability to work independently and manage multiple field assignments.

\n

●       Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, and construction management software for field documentation.

\n

●       Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

\n

Preferred Qualifications

\n

●       Experience across multiple residential trades, including decks, roofing, siding, windows, concrete, masonry, drainage, and remodeling.

\n

●       OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

\n

●       Buildertrend experience.

\n

●       Bilingual English and Spanish.

Compensation and Performance Incentives \n

We believe strong field performance should be rewarded.

\n

In addition to a competitive base salary of 90,000, this position offers a performance incentive opportunity based on:

\n

●       Verified project closeout inspections.

\n

●       Successful final payment collections.

\n

●       Positive customer reviews.

\n

Target total annual compensation is 110,000 , including base salary and performance incentives. Incentives are performance-based, not guaranteed, and are subject to the company's incentive plan.

You'll succeed in this role by catching construction issues early, maintaining high standards of workmanship and safety, helping subcontractors deliver quality results, and ensuring homeowners are confident in the finished product.

We're looking for someone who can walk onto a jobsite, recognize what is right, identify what is wrong, and help get it corrected.
