This position requires you to work on site at one of our facilities located throughout Broward County.

This is an in-office and field work position.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

This OPS Dental Hygienist will be responsible for providing dental preventive care and oral health education in the clinic setting and/or in the setting of a mobile school-based sealant program. Duties and responsibilities of this position include:

• Provides preventative oral care and oral health education to patients and community partners.
• Provides instruction/education to patients in preventive oral/dental health techniques.
• Provides dental assessment and oral hygiene instructions to participating clients.
• Completes and maintains patients' medical records.
• Performs dental hygiene related work (per Florida statutes) as required.
• Provides dental sealants and fluoride varnish as required in the outreach program.
• Participates in set up and break down of equipment and supplies for the school-based sealant program.
• Maintains professional representation of the program with the school staff and community partners.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Willing to work before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. This may include working in a special needs or Red Cross shelter, or performing other emergency duties including, but not limited to, responses to or threats involving any disaster or threat of disaster, man-made or natural.
2. This position requires daily in-office or field work. Willing to physically come in the office daily and perform field work .
3. This position requires current authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. The Department of Health is unable to provide employment visa sponsorship. Are you authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship?
4. Valid driver's license, free of major infractions and access to an automobile to be utilized for work purposes and receive reimbursement for mileage.
5. Licensed as a dental hygienist in accordance with Chapter 466, Florida Statutes
6. One (1) or more years of experience with placing dental sealants.
7. One (1) or more years of experience working with pediatric dental patients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
2. Bilingual, fluent in English/Spanish or English/Creole
