This role offers a unique combination of hands-on laboratory work, engineering analysis, design, testing, and problem-solving.You will work alongside a highly experienced team of engineers and technicians, gaining exposure to a wide variety of mechanical engineering disciplines including structural analysis, testing, instrumentation, machine design, durability, vibration, fatigue, and data analysis.This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who enjoys understanding how things work, solving technical problems, and applying engineering fundamentals to real-world productsAs a Mechanical Engineer - Applied Mechanics Lab, you will:Support engineering projects related to product development, supplier qualification, and customer failure analysis.Plan and execute laboratory testing on mechanical components and systems.Design and develop test fixtures and experimental setups.Analyze engineering test data and provide technical conclusions and recommendations.Apply mechanical engineering principles to investigate product performance and durability issues.Collaborate with engineers, lab technicians, and internal customers to define project objectives and testing requirements.Prepare technical reports and present findings to engineering stakeholders.Support continuous improvement of testing methods, procedures, and laboratory capabilities.Develop expertise in durability, vibration, fatigue, materials behavior, and mechanical system performance.Required qualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.0-2 years of engineering experience, including internships or co-op experience.Strong CAD experience using NX, SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA, or similar 3D modeling software.Working knowledge of Strength of Materials / Mechanics of Materials principles.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to interpret engineering test results and technical data.Excellent organizational skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative team environment.Legal authorization to work in the United States.
