Mechanical Technician I

Commercial Laboratory TechnicianBased in our Sidney, OH location, you will work in conjunction with product engineers to design, develop, and qualify compressors for HVACR systems. To maintain our role as a global leader of compression solutions we continually seek talented and ambitious technicians to work in our engineering laboratories. We are seeking a 1st shift Commercial laboratory technician to contribute to our growth and continued innovation.As a Mechanical Technician, you will:Follow engineering laboratory test instructions for performance/life Commercial test standsSet up and install compressors and support compressor electronics for test purposesOperate laboratory test equipment including performance/life test stands, data acquisition systems, and other measuring equipment used to acquire compressor performance characteristicsFabricate supporting test fixtures and controls required for non-standard tests or buildsReview test data for compliance with applicable test data standards.Perform various tasks related to the upkeep of the labYou will be responsible for completing required tests or builds and communicating test results with engineersYou will provide input on optimizing work processes to improve the overall efficiency of the labSchedule: This position is on 1st shift and would consist of five-eight-hour workdays from 7:00am to 3:30pm and would be eligible for voluntary overtime.Required Education, Experience, & Skills:Associates degree or two to three (2-3) years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMust have basic HVAC, mechanical, and electrical skillsMust have troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsMust have personal computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office programsLegal Authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this roleWhy Work in the Greater Miami Valley AreaOur facility is located in Sidney, OH, conveniently located within driving distance to several larger cities, such as Dayton, Troy, and Columbus.
