A well‑established, full‑service Boutique CPA firm (25 professionals) in Stockton, CA is seeking a Generalist Tax Manager or Tax Senior Manager to join its growing team. This role is ideal for a hands‑on tax professional who enjoys managing client relationships, reviewing complex returns, and mentoring staff while remaining involved in technical work.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and review a broad range of federal and state tax returns, including individuals, partnerships, S corporations, trusts, and non-profits
• Oversee tax planning, extensions, estimates, and compliance matters
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients and maintain long‑term relationships
• Lead, train, and mentor staff and seniors
• Ensure compliance with tax regulations and firm standards
• Collaborate with audit and accounting teams as needed across client engagements

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong generalist tax background across multiple entity types
• Experience working with HNW individuals and closely held businesses
• CPA license required
• Proficiency with Thomson Reuters tax software
• Strong communication and leadership skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $120,000 to $185,000

Work Hours

• Busy season: 50–55 hours/week
