Position Summary Performs routine and preventative maintenance for the hospital. Job Specifications/Qualifications Three to four years of construction or maintenance related experience. Basic general mechanical aptitude. Basic carpentry/painting skills. Must be able to make proper decisions in an emergency situation, meet deadlines, and assist in keeping the hospital operating smoothly at all times. May be required to be available for emergency call at specified intervals. High School Diploma or equivalent. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations None required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

include the following. Other duties or task may be requested or assigned by immediate supervisor, his/her designee, or other management/supervisor. Performs routine mowing, trimming, trash removal, etc. from outside of buildings and parking areas when designated to grounds maintenance. Performs preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment according to established procedures; inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, and repairs or replaces components. Maintains documentation of work done on equipment. Assists in performing carpentry and painting as necessary in renovations and repairs. Assists in heavy moving necessitated by office changes, renovation projects, and/or moving items to storage. Performs any such duties deemed consistent with the general maintenance of a healthcare facility or commercial physical plant facility and associated properties. Attends departmental meetings, safety meetings, and in-services as required. Equipment and materials that are to be used include: boilers, generators, air conditioning units, pumps, motors, saws, drills, plumbing equipment, basic carpentry tools, basic maintenance tools, acetylene and electric welder, mowers, weed trimmers, etc. Supervisory Responsibilities None Essential Physical Demands - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a co-worker to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
