Software Product Engineer

Salary: $123,000 - 163,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a BS in Computer Science, a related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• We are looking for 3-5 years of professional backend software engineering experience.
• We need experience with Git-based workflows and CI/CD pipelines.
• We prefer experience with cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform.
• You should have strong proficiency in at least one of TypeScript, Scala, or Node.js.
• You should understand REST APIs, relational and NoSQL databases, and distributed systems design.
• You should have a history of independently delivering complex projects end to end.
• You should bring strong problem-solving ability and sound technical judgment when navigating ambiguity.
• You should have strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally with product and design teams.

• We design, build, and own backend services and APIs that support credit card recommendation and application experiences.
• We independently drive projects from technical design through implementation, testing, and production launch.
• We write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and deliver thoughtful, constructive peer code reviews.
• We break down ambiguous product requirements into technical designs and shippable increments with minimal direction.
• We debug and resolve production issues and take part in on-call rotations.
• We partner with product managers and designers to shape technical solutions and influence product direction.
• We own integrations with partner issuer APIs and internal data and ML services.
• We document the services we build and maintain.
• We lead sprint planning, technical discussions, and retrospectives, while helping raise the technical standard across the team.
• We use Claude, Cursor, and other GenAI tools throughout the development lifecycle to move faster and work more effectively.

You will work closely with product managers and data teams to design and deliver the services and APIs behind our experiences.
