Shift: Day/Night rotation 7 a.m. – 7:30 p.m./7 p.m.–7:30 a.m., every 4th weekend and holiday rotation. Shift: Full Time Flex Day/Nights 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m./7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m. Providing fast‑paced care to patients experiencing emergent illness, injury, and acute care illness for children and adults, specializing in behavioral health care. Collaborates with chemical dependency team and the behavioral health team to provide high‑quality behavioral and mental health care in the emergency department. Responsibilities Successfully functions as a Registered Nurse as defined in Iowa Nursing Regulations and Practice Act. Provides nursing care for patients and families and maintains a practice environment that reflects the ANA Code for Nurses, Philosophy of Nursing at UnityPoint Health‑Des Moines, and the Professional Nurse Practice Model. Collaborates with care givers and other team members. All newly licensed RNs and RNs with less than 12 months of acute RN experience at the time of application are required to participate in the RN Residency program. Start dates depend on licensure, onboarding, unit availability, and personal preference. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa. Experience: Newly licensed nurse or less than 12 months of acute RN experience. Physical requirement: Level 3 Medium Work – exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds constantly.
