Billing Manager

Senior Manager, Bill-to-Cash (Contract)Duration: 6–12 monthsLocation: Seattle, WAReports to: ControllerRole OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on leader who can stabilize, streamline, and improve our bill-to-cash operations while supporting broader transformation efforts. The primary objective of this role is to improve cash flow, strengthen operational discipline, and build scalable processes across billing, cash application, and collections—ultimately preparing the organization for ERP implementation in 2027.Key ResponsibilitiesThe selected candidate will be expected to:Improve cash flow performance, including DSO, aging, and collections effectivenessStreamline and standardize billing, cash application, and collections processesLead data cleanup efforts to improve accuracy and reliability of reportingDevelop and implement KPI dashboards and reporting frameworksIdentify opportunities to increase team efficiency and capacity (e.g., workload allocation, reduction of manual processes)Support ERP readiness and process alignment while maintaining operational continuitySuccess in this role will be measured by:Improved process efficiencyIncreased cash collectionsEnhanced data reliabilityReduced need for day-to-day oversightRequired QualificationsCandidates must meet all of the following criteria:6–10+ years of experience in accounts receivable, bill-to-cash, or order-to-cash operationsIndustry experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-based industriesHands-on experience with complex billing models (milestone, percentage-of-completion, or contract-based billing)Demonstrated track record of improving DSO, collections performance, or billing cycle timesStrong experience with:Cash application and unapplied cash resolutionData cleanup and data integrity initiativesKPI development and operational reportingSupporting or participating in ERP implementations or system/process transformations
