Job Description

Join our team to perform a variety of tasks involving manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects. You will be responsible for preparing surfaces for concrete, shoveling concrete into construction areas, and performing a variety of general labor tasks. Maintaining a clean job site by picking up tools and equipment daily to eliminate potential hazards is crucial. You will also handle and store materials, load and unload trucks, haul and hoist materials, and ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor in concrete and masonry construction projects.
• Prepare surfaces for concrete.
• Shovel concrete into construction areas.
• Maintain a clean job site by picking up all tools and equipment daily.
• Handle and store materials properly.
• Load and unload trucks, and haul and hoist materials.
• Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

Essential Skills

• Some knowledge of equipment, materials, and supplies used in concrete and masonry construction work.
• Some knowledge of first aid and applicable safety precautions.
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.
• Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods, and perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
• Ability to communicate orally and in writing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• General labor experience.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Experience in forms, framing, and construction.
• 1+ years experience in general labor, concrete construction, and commercial construction.
• Experience with equipment operation, blueprint reading, concrete work, and using a tape measure.
• OSHA 10 certification.

Work Environment

You will work both indoors and outdoors, performing a variety of tasks in diverse weather conditions. Expect to be on your feet for extended periods and walk on uneven terrain between buildings. You should be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in squatting or kneeling positions. You will work in various departments, always wearing steel-toed boots, a hard hat, and safety glasses.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, KS.

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Kansas City,KS.
