About the Position

Job Title: RN - Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Profession: RN Specialty: Labor & Delivery/Postpartum Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12hr Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery License: Valid RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, EFM, NRP Must-Have: Ability to work in an LDRP setting Description: RN position in Labor and Delivery/Postpartum. Facility has 241 licensed beds and is designated as a Level 3 Trauma center. Unit includes 8 labor rooms, 3 triage rooms, 1 OR suite, and 1 PACU. Average daily patient load is 4 to 6 patients. Patient types include Labor, Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care. Patient ratios follow AWHONN Staffing Guidelines with specific ratios for labor. Required skills include labor management, circulating cesarean sections, pre-op, PACU, triage, newborn resuscitation, Pitocin management, and epidural management. Support includes a charge nurse available 24/7 and resource nurse when available. Respiratory therapy and hospitalists are available 24/7 for newborn care. Technology used includes EMR and various monitors. Floating may be required within the region and scope of practice. Weekend rotation is expected every other weekend. Holidays will require working 75% of the holiday schedule. Requests for time off can be approved up to 6 days excluding holidays. Scrub color is green and issued by the facility.
