Work Arrangement: Onsite

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: 6 Months

Domain: Accounting / Payroll / Finance Operations

Pay Rate: $20.60/hr. on W2 and above DOE

Schedule: Monday Friday | 8:00 AM 5:00 PM

Deadline: 7/20/2026

Skills Required

Primary (Must-Have):

  • Minimum 2 years of Accounting or Payroll experience
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Experience with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Cost Accounting, or Payroll functions
  • Strong data entry and numerical accuracy skills
  • Ability to input and calculate numbers accurately
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to maintain records and prepare reports

Secondary (Good to Have):

  • Prior computer and data entry experience
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch
  • Knowledge of California labor laws and payroll taxes
  • Typing speed of 35 WPM or higher
  • Experience working with accounting systems and financial reporting

Position Overview

The Accounting Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of accounting and clerical duties involving calculating, posting, and verifying accounting data of moderate scope and complexity. This role supports accounting operations across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Billing, Cost Accounting, and Payroll functions while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Process daily labor cards, payroll transactions, progress billings, invoices, accounts payable vouchers, shippers, and travelers checks
  • Type, file, and maintain vouchers, invoices, statements, reports, and other accounting records
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and operating statements
  • Maintain, review, and reconcile records for accuracy
  • Assist with the preparation of journal vouchers and related reports
  • Post and balance ledgers
  • Interface with internal departments, management, vendors, and customers
  • Distribute paychecks, time cards, and reports
  • Provide support and guidance to less experienced personnel
  • Perform additional accounting and clerical duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of Accounting or Payroll experience or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Strong data entry and numerical skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous computer and data entry experience
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator by touch
  • Knowledge of California labor laws and payroll taxes
  • Typing speed of 35 WPM or higher
  • Experience with accounting software and financial reporting processes
