Grant Manager (Consultant) [Remote]

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Grant Manager (Consultant) based in United States.

This is a remote, part-time consulting opportunity focused on building and accelerating a diversified funding pipeline.
You will take ownership of prospect development across foundation, corporate, and government funding sources.
The role combines strategic prospect research, relationship cultivation, proposal development, and pipeline management.
You will help transform organizational priorities and program outcomes into compelling, funder-specific opportunities.
Success will depend on your ability to build systems, maintain a disciplined cultivation cadence, and generate measurable new revenue.
You will work closely with senior development, executive, program, and finance stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to modernize fundraising workflows through effective use of AI-enabled tools.

Accountabilities:

• Build and manage a qualified portfolio of foundation, corporate, and government prospects, creating funder-specific dossiers covering giving history, priorities, decision-makers, and cultivation timelines.

• Apply structured moves-management practices to progress prospects from identification and qualification through cultivation and solicitation.

• Research and develop new relationship pathways using LinkedIn, funder networks, philanthropic databases, and publicly available information.

• Maintain an active pipeline and shared tracking system that supports forward-looking revenue forecasting and distinguishes new business from renewals.

• Own the end-to-end submission process for proposals, letters of inquiry, and funder reports, including drafting, review, submission, and confirmation of receipt where required.

• Produce approximately 3–5 tailored funding applications per week while maintaining strong quality and alignment with individual funder priorities.

• Develop and maintain a Master Proposal library containing organizational narratives, program information, outcomes data, and AI-enabled program use cases.

• Partner with finance to develop accurate grant budgets and budget narratives that align with proposed activities and funder expectations.

• Translate organizational strategy, program outcomes, and evidence into compelling, funder-ready narratives.

• Deliver weekly pipeline reporting that highlights opportunities, deadlines, risks, resource gaps, and revenue in motion.

• Maintain a comprehensive deadline calendar for applications, LOIs, and funder reports, allowing sufficient time for review and refinement.

• Collaborate regularly with program, finance, development, and executive stakeholders to ensure fundraising activity remains aligned with organizational priorities.

• Identify and implement AI-enabled workflows that improve prospect research, proposal development, qualification, and overall fundraising efficiency.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of institutional fundraising experience, with grant writing and prospect research as core areas of expertise; experience in workforce development, education, or economic mobility is advantageous.

• Demonstrated ability to develop proposals that generate funding results, with an understanding of how to evaluate pipeline quality, conversion rates, and dollars raised.

• Strong prospect research capabilities and experience building a funding pipeline from an initial or limited prospect base.

• Experience using LinkedIn, funder databases, public philanthropic information, and other research sources to qualify prospects.

• Proven experience developing and managing grant budgets in partnership with finance teams.

• Fluency with CRM and project management platforms; experience with Salesforce and Asana is preferred.

• An operational mindset with experience creating or improving fundraising systems, processes, and workflows.

• Excellent grant writing skills and the ability to adapt messaging to different funders, strategic priorities, and evaluation criteria.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities independently.

• Ability to work effectively with senior leaders, program teams, finance professionals, and external stakeholders.

• Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve fundraising workflows, such as prospect qualification, research automation, proposal drafting, or pipeline management.

• Ability to explain a specific AI-enabled workflow you have implemented or used in a professional setting.

• Availability during core U.S. Eastern business hours and the ability to operate effectively as an independent remote consultant.

Benefits:

• Compensation: $75 per hour.

• Approximately 40 hours per month on an independent contractor basis.
