As an Accounting Manager - General Ledger, your essential job functions will include the following: The Accounting Manager is responsible for all areas relating to financial reporting. This position will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements, and for maintaining effective internal controls. The Accounting Manager supervises the general ledger accountants and is responsible for managing, motivating and developing the team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, the monthly financial close, financial reporting, quarterly reviews and year-end audit preparation. The Accounting Manager will report to the Director of Accounting and Shared Services and will have contact with senior-level management and associates across functional areas, which requires strong interpersonal communication skills. General Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Support a multi-unit business through general accounting and internal control functions and results reporting and analysis.
• Manage the monthly financial close process to ensure the timely, accurate preparation of financial statements consistent with U.GAAP and all Company policies and procedures. Participate in management meetings to review financial results.
• Responsible for the preparation of General Ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing in an efficient, timely manner; review and approve all entries made to the General Ledger.
• Perform monthly account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts; complete investigative analysis to explain variances resulting from financial statement review and inquiries.
• Perform accounting research and analysis; make recommendations regarding appropriate accounting treatment based on GAAP.
• Establish and maintain effective internal controls, policies, and processes to assure control and protection of assets, accurate reporting of financial position, and compliance with applicable regulations.
• Manage consolidating tasks and coordinate the quarterly reviews and year-end financial audit; serve as the primary interface with external auditors.
• Oversee fixed asset process and procedures as required.
• recommend improvements to policies and procedures to strengthen controls, enhance business systems and improve productivity, and support implementation of those improvements.
• Participate on cross-functional teams to provide accounting and analytical support on projects, new initiatives, and issue resolution; ensure open lines of communication with customers (internal and external), co-workers and management.

Leadership, Mentoring, and Coaching

• Supervise the general ledger accounting team, ensuring work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.
• Prepare performance evaluations.
• Analytical – Ability to manage complex or diverse information, collects and research data, use experience to complement data, design work flows and procedures, and understand / explain complex accounting processes.

• willingness to research and resolve accounting application.
• Technical Skills – Demonstrates strong understanding of accounting theory and knowledge of US GAAP; pursues training and development opportunities to continuously build knowledge and skills; displays understanding of all accounting functions and related internal controls.
• Leadership – Demonstrates results orientation, agility, initiative, influence and customer focus; Bachelor’s Degree with a major in Accounting required; 5+ years relevant accounting experience; prior supervisory/management experience preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements.
• Oracle, JDE, SAP); Previous experience in the service industry is strongly preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office Applications; expertise in Excel.
