Stroke/Neuro Medical-Surgical Position

Required Experience & Credentials

• Experience: 18 months Medical-Surgical (MS) experience minimum
• License: Georgia (GA) or Compact license in hand
• Certifications:
  • NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) - Required
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)

Required Clinical Skills

• IV Insertion
• PICC Lines
• Epic EMR experience
• NIHSS assessment
• Telemetry Interpretation

Special Procedures Performed on Unit

• Lumbar punctures
• Thoracentesis
• NGT/feeding tube management
• NFT insertion
