Receiving Clerk

Overview Position Type: Full Time Job Shift: 1st Shift Education Level: High School Travel Percentage: None Category: Warehouse Description The individual in this position reports to the Receiving Supervisor and is responsible for conducting warehouse receiving activities or material handling tasks as assigned. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Move material and/or goods from one location to another as indicated by receiving instructions. Label and transfer received goods into appropriate locations. Pickup or arrange for pickup of local vender items, including furniture, raw materials, and supplies. Monitor stock levels and replenish. Unpack shipping containers, trucks, and packages received for placement on the shelves or for repackaging. Notify recipient employees of special orders. Prepare scrap material for recycling. Keep records and update paperwork or computerized systems to indicate material or order status. Notify Supervisor or Manager of any errors that need to be corrected. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge of general material handling practices and safety procedures Must be able to become forklift certified through company training Ability to operator material handling equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, banders, hoists and lifting equipment Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions Skilled in material handling techniques Some computer experience required Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or equivalent One year experience with material handling equipment Must have communication skills appropriate for the job Ability to follow instructions Must be able to work with minimal supervision Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Computer Skills Ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Additional Training Continuous training in warehouse and safety procedures, and certification in the operation of heavy equipment as needed.
