Registered Nurse – Telemetry (Travel Contract)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Telemetry unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, ARF, COPD, uncontrolled diabetes, CKD, and post cardiac catheterization care
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry data, escalating concerns appropriately
• Manage patient admissions and discharges efficiently within a 22-bed unit at a 5:1 or 6:1 patient ratio
• Administer and monitor basic cardiac drip infusions using Baxter IV pumps and related equipment
• Document accurately using Meditech EMR via Computers on Wheels
• Float to Med/Surg overflow as needed and participate in every other or every third weekend rotation (12-hour weekend requirement)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 1.5 years of experience in Telemetry or Medical Surgical/Telemetry nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Ability to work night shifts and meet weekend hour requirements
• Must meet travel distance requirements (60 miles or greater from facility)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech EMR strongly preferred
• EKG interpretation skills and demonstrated critical thinking in a telemetry setting
• Familiarity with basic cardiac drip management and post cardiac catheterization care protocols
• Team-oriented and flexible personality with the ability to adapt to a dynamic unit environment
