Network Infrastructure Engineer

Location: Plano, TX (Onsite)
Employment Type: 3 month-Contract-to-Hire
Pay Rate: $45-$50/hour

Job Summary

GTS Technology Solutions is seeking a Network Infrastructure Engineer for a contract-to-hire opportunity in Plano, TX. This onsite role is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with LAN/WAN/WLAN environments, routing and switching, network troubleshooting, and enterprise infrastructure deployments.

This position works closely with internal teams, customers, and technology partners to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable network solutions.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and support enterprise network infrastructure including switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls
• Implement and troubleshoot LAN/WAN/WLAN environments
• Configure and maintain TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, routing, and switching technologies
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of network connectivity, performance, and security issues
• Support Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments
• Assist with network upgrades, deployments, and infrastructure improvement projects
• Create and maintain network documentation, diagrams, configurations, and asset inventories
• Work with vendors, service providers, and internal teams to resolve technical issues
• Support change management processes and ensure proper documentation of network changes
• Participate in scheduled maintenance, upgrades, and after-hours support when needed

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network administration, engineering, or infrastructure support
• 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN environments
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, and network troubleshooting
• Experience configuring and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless technologies
• Experience with Layer 2/Layer 3 networking concepts and routing protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, or BGP
• Experience with structured cabling, CAT6/CAT6A, and fiber optic technologies
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Networking, or related field
• Cisco certifications (CCNA/CCNP) or other networking certifications
• Experience with network monitoring tools and data center infrastructure

Work Environment

• Onsite position located in Plano, TX
• Contract-to-hire opportunity
• Occasional after-hours maintenance and support may be required
• Ability to lift and install networking equipment up to 50 pounds
