Quality Assurance Engineer

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer in Clearwater, FL for a one year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company. This role supports a high-precision electronics production facility by using data-driven analysis to identify root-cause remediations, maintain product quality, and sustain on-time delivery. The position partners with program teams, Quality Program Managers, Manufacturing leads, and Advanced Quality Technology specialists supporting complex assemblies including circuit card assemblies, cabling, and box-level hardware.

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related STEM discipline
• Professional experience analyzing large datasets, building automated reports or dashboards, or supporting quality improvement initiatives
• Demonstrated proficiency with data analysis and visualization tools such as SQL, Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent
• Experience collaborating in a cross-functional environment
• Ability to communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to work independently
• Solid foundation in quality engineering methods

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on experience with statistical methods used in manufacturing, including SPC, Capability Analysis, Pareto, or Design of Experiments
• Certification or training in Six Sigma, Lean, or other structured continuous-improvement methodologies
• Experience building automated data workflows or ETL processes using Python, SQL, or Alteryx
• Prior experience in aerospace, defense, or high-reliability electronics manufacturing
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, AS9100, or other aerospace quality standards

What You'll Do

• Apply SPC, Six Sigma, regression, and hypothesis testing to identify root causes of non-conforming hardware
• Develop corrective-action plans, track effectiveness, and verify that issues are eliminated at the source
• Translate analytical findings into concise visual stories and briefings for production sites and downstream customers
• Design and maintain Power BI or Tableau dashboards showing defect trends, first-pass yield, scrap rates, and other KPIs
• Define, monitor, and report key performance indicators
• Maintain audit-ready data to support ISO 9001, AS9100, regulatory, and contractual standards
• Partner with quality, manufacturing, engineering, and Change Control Board teams to align on quality objectives
• Use Python, VBA, or Alteryx to automate data extraction and trend analysis
• Identify and ingest internal and external data sources and build ETL pipelines with quality assurance and lineage documentation
