Position requires a Bachelors Degree in related field or substantial related work experience; training and working knowledge of children and families, extensive education in parent education methods, casework methods, crisis intervention techniques, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
We are searching for a full-time Parent Educator to join our Parenting Plus Team! Our Parenting Plus program recognizes that parenting is one of the hardest jobs in the world. We help parents navigate any immediate needs for services or supports and assist them in making sure that their children’s needs are being met, so that they can grow and develop to reach their fullest potential. Some of the position responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provides parents with a comprehensive, individualized in-home program of instruction relevant to effective parenting including: infant stimulation relevant to development, nurturing, child development, communication, discipline, safety, nutrition, anger management, and self-esteem as well as the development of skills relevant to time, money and household management.
- Organizes and carries out parent education and support groups throughout the service area.
- Provides ongoing case management services to families on their caseload.
- Maintains comprehensive case records, summaries and statistics related to families served.
