CNC Machinist

A growing state-of-the-art manufacturing company offering precision machined parts for the aerospace and defense industry is seeking to expand their CNC Department.  The ideal candidate will have a Technical School certificate in machining, and a minimum of 4 years of machine shop experience that includes machine programming.  This position is located in Huntsville, AL.

salary: $62,400 - $70,000 per year
shift: Third
work hours: 7 AM - 3:30 AM
education: High School

Responsibilities

• Calculate dimensions or tolerances, using instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers
• Machine parts to specifications, using machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders
• Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations
• Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments, such as micrometers
• Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process
• Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition
• Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products
• Dismantle machines or equipment, using hand tools or power tools to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts where needed

The essential functions of this role include:

• working in a smoke free environment
• wearing steel toe shoes
• working in a non-temperature controlled environment
• manual lifting up to 50lbs
• standing for 8 hours at one time
• working up to 8 hrs of overtime per week
