Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Machinist to support prototype development and manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with manual and CNC machining, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and expertise in machining complex components with precision and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Manual & CNC Machining

• Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, and other machine-shop equipment.
• Set up, program, and operate CNC machines, including developing toolpaths, selecting appropriate tooling, and validating machining strategies.
• Create, modify, and maintain fixtures for machining complex prototype and development components.

Programming & Technical Execution

• Develop CNC programs and machining instructions using CAD/CAM inputs, including engineering drawings, sketches, 3D models, and conceptual designs.
• Troubleshoot machining operations and adjust speeds, feeds, tooling, and workholding to achieve optimal quality, accuracy, and safety.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to support prototype builds, component development, and machining process improvements.

Quality Control & Documentation

• Inspect machined components using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Maintain accurate machining records, document work performed, and communicate technical changes or challenges to engineering partners.
• Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized machine-shop environment.

Qualifications & Required Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 4–6 years of experience as a machinist or in a similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong hands-on experience operating both manual and CNC mills, lathes, and related machine-shop equipment.
• Solid knowledge of machining processes, cutting tools, tooling selection, and machining techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical specifications, and CAD/CAM models.
• Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and collaborate effectively with engineering and manufacturing teams.
