Production Coordinator, Translations

Job Overview This hands‑on, non‑supervisory position is responsible for managing the production of USP translation publications, ensuring defect‑free products on schedule. The Production Coordinator, Translations will interface with translators, editors, scientific liaisons, IT, internal USP business units, and external vendors to deliver content accurately and on time. Location Remote with the employee required to be onsite in Rockville, MD at least once a month. Impact As part of USP’s mission to advance scientific rigor and public health standards, you will play a vital role in increasing global access to high‑quality medicines through public standards and related programs. Responsibilities Coordinate all components necessary for the high‑quality and timely delivery of translated publications, including content version control, departmental hand‑offs, and managing the review and correction cycle. Create and distribute product schedules in collaboration with stakeholders. Track assigned products daily, communicate status to all stakeholders, and ensure milestones are met, escalating issues as necessary. Manage external vendors and contractors, write work‑order specifications, and prepare purchase orders. Resolve quality problems and perform QC checks throughout the production process. Work with Publications Development to maintain product stylesheets, track issue tickets, and escalate as appropriate. Use the USP document management system, component content management system (CCMS), and related tools to ensure accurate and efficient publishing of USP content. Participate in and coordinate special projects as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications BS or BA degree or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in publishing, preferably in a translation workflow role. Additional Desired Preferences Experience in the production and coordination of digital publication delivery. Experience in a translation workflow environment. Fluency in Spanish or French (preferred). Strong team player capable of working in a deadline‑driven environment with multiple priorities. Demonstrated ability to establish schedules, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines; excellent time‑management and organizational skills. High attention to detail. Demonstrated multi‑tasking abilities and the ability to take direction. Ability to operate independently when appropriate, yet knows when to escalate issues. Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication and organizational skills. Sound analytical and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, including MS Project, and Adobe Acrobat Professional. Familiarity with content management systems, JIRA, and other project‑management software (plus). Supervisory Responsibilities None; this is an individual contributor role.
