About This Role

Wildflowers Learning Center is looking for a warm, dependable, and engaged Preschool Teacher to join our 3-year-old classroom.

We would especially love to find someone with experience working with preschool-aged children who feels comfortable creating structure, building strong relationships, and helping a classroom thrive. At the same time, we know that great teachers come with different backgrounds and experiences. Wildflowers is a play-based early childhood program in Madison, WI. Our teachers have room to bring their own strengths and ideas into the classroom while working within a supportive team and an established curriculum and program.

This is a full-time position.

• Build warm, trusting relationships with children and families.
• Create a safe, engaging, and welcoming classroom for 3-year-olds.
• Plan and facilitate play-based, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
• Establish predictable routines while remaining responsive to the individual needs of children.
• Support children's social-emotional development, independence, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Observe children's development and use those observations to help guide curriculum and individual goals.
• Work collaboratively with your teaching partner and the Wildflowers leadership team.
• Communicate with families about their child's experiences, development, and day.
• Spend time outdoors with children and encourage exploration, movement, and hands-on learning.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inviting classroom environment.
• Complete required documentation and follow Wisconsin licensing, YoungStar, and Wildflowers policies and procedures.

• Genuine interest in working with young children and supporting their development.
• Reliable, professional, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Able to communicate respectfully and positively with children, families, and coworkers.
• Willingness to learn and participate in ongoing professional development.
• Able to meet Wisconsin child care licensing requirements for the position.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Previous experience working with preschool-aged children, especially 3-year-olds.
• Experience as a preschool teacher, childcare teacher, daycare teacher, early childhood educator, or lead teacher.
• Coursework, credentials, or a degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field.
• Wisconsin Registry credentials or Registry level.
• Experience with play-based or child-led curriculum.
• Experience with Creative Curriculum.
• Familiarity with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards (WMELS).
• Experience supporting children's social-emotional development and positive behavior.
• Experience with Conscious Discipline or the Pyramid Model.
