Posted by Kiki Von Glinow, CEO and Co-Founder Senior Social Media Strategist — (Contract) Maternity Leave Coverage Contract | 3–4 Months | Brooklyn, NY / Hybrid Toast Media Group is looking for an experienced Senior Social Media Strategist to join our team on a 3–4 month (depending on start availability) contract to provide maternity leave coverage. This is a senior, hands-on role for someone who knows how to lead organic social strategy, manage client relationships, and keep multiple fast-moving accounts organized and moving forward. You’ll own social strategy across several clients, serve as a key day-to-day client contact, and work closely with Toast’s creative team to turn strategy and cultural insights into content people actually want to engage with. This role requires someone who is equal parts strategist, client lead, and project manager. Because this is maternity leave coverage, we’re especially looking for someone who can get up to speed quickly, confidently take ownership of existing accounts and processes, and bring a high level of organization from day one. What You’ll Do Lead Social Strategy Own organic social strategy across multiple Toast clients, primarily across Instagram and TikTok, with opportunities to work across YouTube, Facebook and other platforms. Translate broader brand and business objectives into clear, actionable social strategies. Develop monthly content concepts, recurring series, campaigns and platform-specific ideas for execution by Toast’s creative team. Identify cultural moments, audience behaviors, platform trends and emerging formats that brands can credibly participate in. Continuously evolve content strategy based on performance, audience response and platform changes. Write clear creative briefs that give designers, editors, producers and creators what they need to execute great work. Oversee social coordinator and junior designer, setting project deadlines and providing feedback Own Client Communication Serve as a primary day-to-day client contact across assigned accounts. Build agendas and lead recurring client meetings, presenting ideas, performance insights and strategic recommendations. Manage client feedback, questions and requests while keeping projects moving and expectations clear. Build strong client relationships and operate as a trusted strategic partner. Reporting & Optimization Own monthly organic social reporting for assigned clients. Turn performance data into meaningful insights and actionable recommendations—not just a recap of what happened. Identify patterns across content, platforms and audiences and use those learnings to inform upcoming concepts and strategy. Project Management & Account Organization Keep multiple accounts, deliverables, approvals and timelines organized simultaneously. Own and maintain account workflows in Airtable, ensuring information is accurate and current. Partner closely with creative and production team members to move work efficiently from concept through client approval and publishing. Track feedback, deadlines and next steps to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. What We’re Looking For 5+ years of experience in organic social strategy, ideally in an agency or multi-client environment. Strong understanding of Instagram and TikTok and excellent instincts for what makes compelling social content. Experience owning client relationships and confidently leading meetings and presentations. Strong analytical skills and experience turning social performance into actionable recommendations. Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills , with the ability to manage multiple clients and workstreams simultaneously. Strong experience with Airtable and working knowledge of Meta Business Manager. A proactive, collaborative working style and the ability to get up to speed quickly with limited hand-holding.
