Medical Laboratory Technician – Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis 3rd Shift – Veterinary Clinical Pathology As a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) at IDEXX, you will be a key contributor at one of the largest veterinary diagnostic companies in the world. In This Role You will use automated analyzers, microscopes, and other laboratory diagnostic tools to perform analyses and tests that diagnose animal illnesses, injuries, and diseases in support of veterinarian treatment. Your daily work will involve processing thousands of blood, urine, fecal, or biopsy samples, setting up and running tests, and reading and releasing results according to SOPs. You may specialize in one or more of the following areas: Hematology : Testing cell‑related components of blood samples, including microscopic evaluation of smears and automated or manual counting techniques. Chemistry / Endocrinology : Testing blood and body fluids for various analytes using automated instrumentation. Urinalysis : Analyzing chemical and microscopic components of urine samples with automated and manual methods. Cytology : Preparing and staining blood or body fluid slides for microscopic examination by pathologists, involving both manual and automated techniques. Immunology / Serology : Detecting viral or bacterial disease in blood and other samples by identifying antibodies (AB) or antigens (AG). What You’ll Need to Succeed Ability to work the overnight 3rd shift (Monday‑Friday with rotating Saturday). Prior experience on overnight shifts. High school diploma or equivalent; a 2‑, 3‑ or 4‑year degree in a science‑related field is preferred. Experience as a Veterinary Technician (RVT, LVT, CVT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT/MT) is a plus. Experience setting up, running, and reading lab tests and operating laboratory equipment such as microscopes, pipettes, and clinical diagnostic analyzers. Experience in Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, or Serology within a clinical pathology or veterinary setting. Positive attitude, teamwork orientation, and strong attention to detail. Physical ability to stand or sit for extended periods, lift up to 50lb, use a computer and phone, and meet vision requirements (close, color, depth perception). Awareness of potential exposure to biohazards and hazardous chemicals. What You Can Expect From Us Hourly rate target: $22/hr plus $3/hr shift differential for overnight pay.
