Education and Training Specialist Position Summary: This position is established as an Education and Training Specialist Staff Development at Sunland. The role requires developing, coordinating, conducting, evaluating, and monitoring job and position-specific staff training activities, including classroom and practice instruction. The Specialist prepares and conducts a wide range of developmental services training activities for management, professional, and non‑professional Sunland and community Developmental Services staff. Work You Will Do Instruct employees in required subjects contributing to a well‑trained, competent workforce. Conduct refresher testing/training in assigned units/departments to ensure staff are current with requirements. Ensure curriculum in assigned lead classes is up‑to‑date and aligned with Agency and Sunland’s mission, vision, values, and current policies and procedures. Maintain certifications in CPR and other required subject areas, increasing expertise with additional certifications to meet the changing needs of employees. Perform other related duties as required. Minimum Qualifications Must be able to lift 40 lbs independently. Must be able to transfer from kneeling to standing position repeatedly. Must be able to present training both verbally and written. At least one year of prior teaching or training experience. Preferred: CPR Instructor Certification. Preferred: Valid driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Skills in effective classroom teaching/presentations. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work assignments for self. Ability to prepare reports utilizing Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to present presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. Salary Range $37,127.79–$40,840.54 Annually; $1,427.99–$1,570.79 Bi‑weekly. Benefits of Working for the State of Florida Annual and Sick Leave benefits.
