Overview of Lead Maintenance Technician Purdue University Northwest is seeking a Lead MaintenanceTechnician to join their team. The Lead Maintenance Technician isprimarily located at the Westville campus with travel to other PNWlocations as needed. This position will be part of a team thatmaintains the building envelope and all systems within. Operate thecentral heating and cooling plant. Duties will include generalmaintenance of buildings, troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing,and HVAC systems. Oversight of the energy management system andscheduling of the HVAC systems. The Lead position will also assistthe Maintenance Manager in assigning work orders and prioritizingwork. The Lead will also be the primary backup for the manager intheir absence and provide functional supervision. Availability foremergency call outs is necessary. Pay: $27.04/hour Schedule: 6:30 am - 3:00 pm Duties and Responsibilities of Lead Maintenance Technician General maintenance of buildings, troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Maintain, repair and replace building system components (e.g.HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.) Assist in operation of the central heating and cooling plant. Boiler and chiller water chemical treatment program. Seasonal cleaning and maintenance of boilers and chillers. Oversight of the energy management system and scheduling of the HVAC systems. Assist other staff with troubleshooting and completing repairs. Functional supervision of maintenance staff. Work order assignments and delegation. Perform other duties as assigned, such as assisting with snowremoval or event setup. Previous experience in an educational setting preferred. Steam boiler experience is a plus. Core Competencies of Lead Maintenance Technician Troubleshooting and repair skills in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and controls systems. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain relationshipswith diverse constituencies. Strong written and verbal communication skills arenecessary. Computer literacy and working knowledge of architectural plansand specifications are essential. Knowledge of energy management systems and work managementsystems.
