About the Position

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Schedule: 3x12 or 4x12 hour shifts, nights; guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period; every other weekend required

Highlights:

• High-volume, high-risk Labor & Delivery unit with an average of 7 deliveries daily (up to 14 patients with inductions and high-risk antepartum)
• Modern facility featuring 10 OB triage rooms, 10 LDR rooms, 3 OR suites, and 4 PACU rooms
• Epic EMR charting system in a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma Center recognized as the Best Hospital in Alaska
• Assignment length of 13 or 26 weeks with opportunities for charge nurse training
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• May float to similar units within scope as needed; no on-call requirement

Requirements:

• Active Alaska RN license (must be in hand for offer; pending licenses accepted for submission)
• Minimum 1 year of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP
• Epic charting experience required
• Charge experience preferred or willingness to train in charge role
• Proficiency in high-risk antepartum care, OB triage, sterile vaginal exams, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, and cesarean section assistance
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
• Ability to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Hepatitis B vaccination required
• Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
