Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A rewarding opportunity is available for a skilled pharmacist to support long-term care and mail order pharmacy needs during the 2nd shift. This contract-to-hire role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment, ensuring safe and effective medication management across diverse patient populations.

Location: Hazleton, PA
Schedule:

• Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM – 9:30 PM
• Rotating every 3rd Saturday and Sunday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept, prepare, and dispense prescription medications in compliance with all regulations.
• Monitor patient medication compliance and identify patterns of over-usage to promote safe therapeutic outcomes.
• Verify the appropriateness of prescribed medications and assess for potential drug interactions.
• Maintain patient confidentiality while documenting all pharmacy records precisely.
• Provide patient counseling, addressing medication usage, side effects, and answering questions to foster better health management.
• Offer additional patient services such as smoking cessation guidance, blood pressure screening, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the use of medical devices like glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications following sterile procedures and prepare solutions as needed.
• Supervise pharmacy technicians and clerks, promoting smooth daily operations.
• Manage inventory of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies to maintain adequate stock levels.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve drug-related issues.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Pennsylvania pharmacy license (required).
• Experience in Long Term Care pharmacy preferred.
• Mail order pharmacy experience is an advantage.
• Sterile compounding skills highly regarded.
