Medtronic seeks a Principal Automation Engineer to lead automation initiatives at its Danvers, Massachusetts manufacturing site. The role involves technical leadership for automation projects, equipment qualification, and strategy development while partnering with cross-functional teams to advance manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

Serve as primary automation engineering representative for Danvers site operations
Lead automation and machine vision initiatives including qualification, optimization, and troubleshooting
Support existing automated systems through technical problem-solving and reliability improvements
Develop and maintain site automation roadmap aligned with operational and business objectives
Partner with cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and implement emerging automation technologies

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, or Controls Engineering
7+ years supporting manufacturing automation, robotics, controls, or machine vision systems
Experience leading technical projects in manufacturing environments
Expertise troubleshooting complex equipment and implementing corrective actions
Experience with IQ/OQ/PQ qualification and validation activities
Knowledge of regulated manufacturing environments preferred
