Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Winston-Salem, NC

Type: Temp-to-hire

Pay: $24/hour

Department: Finance

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support financial operations for a client in Winston-Salem. This role is responsible for processing expenses, managing payments, and ensuring accurate account reconciliation while supporting reporting and month-end activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process employee expense reports (e.g., travel and business expenses) in a timely manner
• Perform bank and account reconciliations
• Execute supplier payments, including wire transfers
• Confirm account balances across entities
• Review and verify monthly expense reports
• Assist with year-end closing activities and audit support
• Support quarterly and year-end tax reporting processes
• Assist with customer credit processing
• Coordinate and resolve financial discrepancies
• Prepare financial reports, including freight cost analysis
• Support treasury functions and internal controls
• Assist with physical inventory and special projects as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent accounting experience
• Experience with accounts payable or supplier payment processes preferred
• Understanding of account reconciliation procedures
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Work Environment & Requirements:

• Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform light physical tasks as needed
• Flexibility to work overtime as required
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to maintain focus and accuracy throughout the workday
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States
