Senior Accountant

Location: Irvine, CA (On-Site) Employment Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $80,000 - $140,000 DOE Our client, a rapidly growing and well-established organization in the food distribution and manufacturing industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This role offers the opportunity to play a key part in financial reporting, month-end close, audit support, cost analysis, and process improvement initiatives within a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, manufacturing industry experience, and a proactive approach to identifying efficiencies and improving financial processes. Key Responsibilities Lead and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting. Prepare and review account reconciliations, including cash, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts. Coordinate and assist with external audit activities, including the preparation of schedules and supporting documentation. Perform cost accounting and inventory analysis, partnering closely with operations to ensure accurate product costing. Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and provide meaningful variance analysis to management. Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance initiatives. Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, and other departments on business initiatives and process improvements. Support ERP system enhancements, automation efforts, and financial reporting improvements. Assist with special projects and provide accounting support across multiple business units as needed. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required. Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience. Experience managing month-end close and preparing financial statements. Strong external audit experience, including audit preparation and auditor collaboration. Manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-based accounting experience required. Solid understanding of GAAP, cost accounting principles, and inventory valuation. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas, data analysis, and reporting. Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or other ERP systems is a plus. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Effective communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
