Payroll and Benefits Specialist

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Benefits Specialist to own our end-to-end payroll processes and employee benefits administration. This role involves managing accurate data entry, ensuring compliant payroll delivery, administering benefit plans, and supporting employee inquiries. Benefits for our Full Time Team Members Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance coverage Paid time off, including vacation, holidays, and sick leave 401K with matching; offerings vested fully at 3 months of employment with eligibility to contribute Short & Long Disability, and Life Term insurance, complementary of Full Time Employment Additional supplementary coverages offered at employee's elections: Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, AD&D, etc. Job Duties Payroll Processing: Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, including bonuses, deductions, and taxes. Benefits Administration & Auditing: Ensure employee benefits are set up properly in the system and that employees are assigned the correct benefits per their elections. Compliance & Records: Maintain accurate employee data and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Employee Support: Act as a primary contact for payroll and benefits questions, providing excellent and timely customer service. Reporting: Generate payroll, tax and benefit reports for management and employees. Qualifications System Proficiency: Knowledge of payroll software (UKG, Kronos, Paycor, or other platforms) preferred. Payroll and/or Benefits Administration Knowledge: Understanding of payroll, taxes, garnishments, and benefits highly desired. Analytical Abilities: Strong problem‑solving and attention to detail is required. Experience: Previous payroll, HR or similar experience preferred; training provided for the right candidate. Technical Skills: Advanced Excel proficiency highly regarded. Exceptional accuracy in processing payroll and maintaining financial records. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels. Physical Requirements Work is of light demand, sitting most of the time while on duty. Visual and auditory acuity and manual dexterity essential to performing designated duties. Able to look at a computer screen for long periods of time. Manual dexterity involving the handling of equipment and computers is essential to performing assigned duties. May be subjected to stressful situations. Hours of duty may be irregular or unexpectedly extended due to the requirements of Administration. OSHA Exposure Classification: Job Category III. Tasks do not entail unpredictable exposure to blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply.
