Job Title: RN - ER Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 8 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (3 shifts per week) Experience: Recent experience with EPIC required License: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required Certifications: - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor required - AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS required - AHA-PALS or ARC-PALS required Must-Have: Recent experience with EPIC Description: The position involves delivering coordinated nursing care for patients according to established standards of care. The nurse will supervise and direct the activities of various levels of nursing staff and coordinate care with other disciplines. Critical thinking, professional discretion, and independent judgment are essential. Responsibilities include collecting relevant data regarding patient health or situation. Assessment data will be analyzed to determine diagnosis and care issues. The nurse will develop a plan that prescribes interventions to attain outcomes. The implementation of the plan will involve coordinating care delivery and employing strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Progress toward attaining outcomes will be evaluated. Outcomes for the patient or the patient’s situation will be identified. Collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare providers is critical in providing patient care in a safe and caring environment. Learning opportunities for patients and families as well as team members will be provided. Health information will be directly provided to patients, families, and treatment teams. Participating in discharge planning is necessary to ensure continuity of care. Delegation and coordination of duties among healthcare team members will be performed. Other job-related duties may be assigned as needed. Organizational requirements include commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients. All associates are required to receive all vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Exemptions for medical and religious reasons may apply. Participation in E-Verify is mandatory. This department provides triage, treatment, and support for trauma and emergency patients of all ages in an acute care setting. Hours and expenses related to triage and treatment of trauma patients are included. However, administrative and support hours related to the trauma program and its services are excluded.
