Job Description:
As a Lead ETL Developer , you will lead the design, development, and deployment of enterprise data integration solutions supporting large-scale data migration and modernization initiatives. This role is responsible for extracting, transforming, and loading data from cloud-based platforms into enterprise data warehouse environments while ensuring data quality, scalability, reliability, and performance. You will serve as the technical leader for a team of ETL developers, providing architectural guidance, mentoring, best practices, and oversight throughout the project lifecycle. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in cloud-based data engineering, ETL development, data modeling, and enterprise analytics platforms, along with proven leadership experience managing complex data transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of ETL and data ingestion processes supporting large-scale cloud-to-data-warehouse migration initiatives.

• Architect, design, and implement data pipelines using modern ETL tools and cloud-native data processing technologies.

• Extract, transform, standardize, and load historical and real-time data from multiple source systems, including relational databases and flat files.

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to a team of ETL developers.

• Establish development standards, coding best practices, and architectural guidelines for the ETL team.

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to validate data requirements and align solutions with reporting and analytics objectives.

• Develop and execute testing strategies to ensure data accuracy, completeness, integrity, and consistency throughout migration efforts.

• Optimize ETL workflows and data pipelines for performance, scalability, maintainability, and operational efficiency.

• Validate transactional and analytical data models to support business intelligence, reporting, and downstream application requirements.

• Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and data integration specifications.

• Deliver presentations and communications to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives across the data ecosystem.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Minimum 7 years of hands-on ETL development experience.

• Strong expertise in enterprise ETL architecture, data integration, and data migration solutions.

• Extensive experience with modern ETL tools and Business Intelligence/reporting platforms.

• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and cloud-native data processing solutions.

• Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse concepts, data modeling methodologies, and ETL best practices.

• Experience leading technical teams and mentoring 4 or more developers in enterprise environments.

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Dataform and BigQuery.

• Strong knowledge of Medallion Architecture and modern data engineering design patterns.

• Experience integrating data from multiple heterogeneous data sources, including databases, files, and cloud platforms.

• Expertise in data validation, data quality management, reconciliation, and testing methodologies.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

• Experience optimizing ETL performance, scalability, and operational reliability.

• Excellent communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.

• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and business audiences.

• Experience supporting enterprise analytics, reporting, business intelligence, and data modernization initiatives.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $60.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
