The TL;DR Role: Early Career Type: Full-time Location: In-person Columbus, Ohio Metropolitan Area Team: Works alongside Senior Accountants and Client Managers Mission: Supports the tax and accounting team with client engagements, ensuring accurate financials and compliance support. Tech Stack: Thomson Reuters tax/accounting software suite (UltraTax, Fixed Asset CS, Planner CS, Accounting CS, Onvio, Practice CS), QuickBooks What You’ll Actually Do Tax Preparation: Assist with preparing various income tax returns (Individual, C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, Trust) under the guidance of senior staff. Bookkeeping Support: Help maintain accurate books and records for clients, including data entry, reconciliations, and general bookkeeping tasks. Client Communication: Respond to routine client requests and correspondence in a timely and professional manner. Research: Research basic accounting and tax questions relating to specific clients. Task Management: Manage assigned tasks and deadlines across multiple client engagements. The Must-Haves Background: College coursework or a degree in accounting, representing an entry point into public accounting. Experience: Relevant coursework or 1–2 years of hands-on tax/accounting experience. Skills: Strong attention to detail, Organizational skills, Ability to communicate effectively and work well within a team, Ability to manage multiple deadlines, Willingness to learn the Thomson Reuters tax/accounting software suite.
