Our client in Pawcatuck, Connecticut is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant for a contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of general accounting functions, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Help prepare financial reports and account analyses
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures
- Assist with audits and other special projects as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of general ledger accounting and reconciliations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
