They are responsible for meeting and exceeding corporate and regional objectives for profitable sales growth, A/R management, and customer retention within their assigned territory. The successful candidate will cultivate relationships and provide solutions to existing and new Airgas customers and use technology to enhance productivity. This position can be based at any Airgas branch within the service area, ranging from Cartersville, GA, through central GA. Responsibilities Develop and implement sales plans utilizing Airgas’ sales initiatives and guidelines to service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts. Qualify and connect with sales leads. Nurture customer relationships by developing a thorough understanding of the customer’s business and establishing a consultative relationship. Prepare sales proposals by quoting pricing, establishing credit terms, and estimating delivery dates based on Airgas’ production/delivery schedules and logistics. Stay current with industry insights, Airgas product mixes, and market trends by gathering relevant marketplace intelligence. Collaborate with internal resources to accomplish success milestones and maintain clear communication regarding customer successes, opportunities, new developments, and other relevant information. Maintain and submit sales reports (daily call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analyses) as requested by the District Manager through SAP. Actively review and manage existing customer accounts receivable balances to protect Airgas working capital and support risk reduction. Lead generation: conduct research to identify potential customers and monitor construction projects within the assigned area. Sales execution: present tailored solutions, address objections, and prepare proposals, quotes, and contracts. Account management: plan work schedules to qualify and close new accounts while maintaining accurate records and reports. Client relations: build rapport with clients, resolve inquiries professionally, and collaborate with internal teams to meet customer requirements. Market strategy: stay updated on industry trends and competition to maintain a competitive edge while upholding company values. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency in common email, spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation software. Valid driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle with insurance coverage. Excellent skills in building alignment and navigating agreements. High‑level presentation and public‑speaking skills. Ability to foster understanding and connect with individuals from different backgrounds. Ability to successfully contribute to the role’s core goals and essential functions. Flexibility to work varied hours to support customers’ success. Over 4 years of successful sales experience in industrial or commercial markets. Knowledge of contractors and construction segment. Experience managing, accessing, and soliciting job sites. Salesforce experience. Strong negotiation and selling skills. Flexibility to work varied hours to meet customer needs. Excellent presentation and public‑speaking skills. Ability to adapt to different personalities and backgrounds. Physical ability to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications A proven background contributing to growth in industrial, commercial, or educational markets. Familiarity with, or strong desire to learn about, industrial, specialty, and medical gases. Knowledge of industrial/specialty gases and MRO/safety products. Salesforce experience.
