Job Description

Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead I - Software Engineering professional to design, develop, and support enterprise-scale software applications and distributed systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong full-stack development expertise across modern front-end technologies, backend microservices, event-driven architectures, cloud-native platforms, and AI-enabled development practices. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to build scalable, high-performance applications while driving engineering excellence and automation throughout the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable enterprise applications and distributed systems.
• Build modern user interfaces using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Develop scalable REST APIs and microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and Python.
• Design and implement event-driven solutions utilizing Kafka and messaging platforms.
• Create reusable UI components and maintain component-based application architecture.
• Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks for UI, API, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and architecture teams to define technical solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and support deployment automation processes.
• Develop and optimize database solutions, queries, and integrations.
• Support containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitor application performance utilizing observability and telemetry platforms.
• Participate in code reviews, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance tuning activities.
• Leverage AI-powered development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and React development.
• Proficiency with Kafka and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with frontend build tools, package management, and component-based design patterns.
• Experience with Playwright or similar end-to-end and UI automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Webpack.
• Extensive experience with Python object-oriented programming.
• Strong Java and Spring Boot development experience.
• Experience designing and building REST APIs and microservices.
• Experience working with JSON, XML, and schema validation.
• Strong Git and GitLab experience.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD automation.
• Hands-on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems.
• Proficiency in shell scripting.
• Experience developing automated testing solutions using JUnit, Karate, or similar tools.
• Strong experience using Postman for API testing and validation.
• Experience working with relational databases and complex SQL queries.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience using Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, or similar observability platforms.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and scalable architecture principles.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with AI productivity tools such as Claude, Cursor, or similar development environments.
• Knowledge of foundation models and generative AI technologies.
• Experience with prompt engineering techniques.
• Understanding of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Experience designing and building AI agents and intelligent automation solutions.
• Exposure to cloud-native architectures and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience working within large-scale enterprise environments.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience will be considered.

Experience

• Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise-scale software solutions.
• Proven experience with full-stack application development and distributed systems.
• Experience working within Agile software development environments.
• Experience building and supporting cloud-native, highly available applications.
• Strong background in automation, testing, and modern software engineering practices.

Certifications

• Relevant Java, Cloud, Kubernetes, or Software Engineering certifications are a plus.
• AI, Machine Learning, or DevOps certifications are preferred but not required.
