Senior Accountant

Kforce has a client in Clearwater, FL that is seeking a Senior Accountant. Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the direct assistant to the Controller, supporting day-to-day accounting operations and strategic finance initiatives
• Oversee and actively participate in accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, general ledger, and cash management activities
• Perform and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities
• Supervise accounting processes while remaining hands-on and willing to perform day-to-day transactional work when needed
• Maintain a strong understanding of the procure-to-pay process, including purchase orders, overhead expenses, and three-way matching
• Assist with financial reporting, account analysis, and identifying process improvements
• Support the company's upcoming ERP implementation and help improve accounting workflows and system efficiencies
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial data and effective communication across the organization
• Prepare for increasing leadership responsibilities with a defined growth path toward Assistant Controller and future Controller/CFO opportunities
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2-5 years of accounting experience, with public accounting audit experience strongly preferred (Tier II firms preferred)
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, general ledger, cash management, and the overall accounting cycle
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial statement impacts
• Strong reconciliation skills and advanced Excel proficiency
• Ability to quickly learn new ERP systems; Prior ERP experience is beneficial but not required
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
• Demonstrated willingness to be hands-on and work in the details when necessary
